all about me
all about me
This is my 15th year teaching in Sayville School District. I have been lucky enough to teach most elementary grades as a classroom teacher. I also have experience as a special education teacher. Overall, I have been teaching for a total of 22 years. Second grade is one of my most favorite grades to teach!
I grew up in Smithtown, but now live in St. James with my husband Dave. We have two daughters named Sarah and Annabel. We also have two dogs named Lucy and Hoagie. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, and reading.
I graduated from East Stroudsburg University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. Shortly after that I went back to school to obtain a certificate in Special Education. I then completed my Masters in the Art of Teaching. I enjoy going to school, and look forward to continuing my education throughout my teaching career.
My goal as a teacher is to provide an atmosphere of safety, trust, and respect. I work hard to build a sense of community among my students that is a caring, learning environment. I believe that learning is a lifelong adventure and I instill this in my students. I will encourage my students to become lifelong learners and I will dedicate myself to help them reach their fullest potential. Teaching is my passion. I couldn’t imagine myself doing anything else. I am looking forward to a wonderful year in second grade!
